Comfort is a funny thing. To feel completely at ease, we must often put ourselves through a stage of doubt. When shooting someone for the first time, it is as nerve-racking for me as it is for them, but I love breaking down that barrier. When we both relax and the camera feels as though it has disappeared, the images are simply witnessed instead of contrived.
